The Goddesses is a collage series that reimagines representations of divine femininity in vernacular cultures, transforming regal, royal, spiritual, and mythical female iconography.  Drawing on a range of collage techniques central to Gegisian’s practice—including layered image juxtapositions, the use of dried flowers, circular adhesive dots, and decorative motifs—the series envisions an alternative universe populated by women drawn from popular publications across diverse geographies and eras. These anonymous figures captured by the camera lens are recontextualized as powerful icons. Inspired by Silvia Federici’s call for a “re-enchantment of the world,” each collage becomes an act of speculative mythmaking, proposing a new pantheon of divine feminine power. At its core, The Goddesses reflects on the tension between organic forms and static imagery, between mythic cosmologies and earthly flora.
